About the Practices
Hanna Somatic Movement
Ever feel a tight muscle in your neck and shoulder and wish you could "undo" the contraction and release the pain?

This is exactly what you learn to do in Hanna Somatic Movement. This little known modality of movement and bodywork is incredibly effective at training your nervous system to release chronically contracted muscles.

Every life experience comes with a muscular pattern: from daily stress, sitting at a desk to major traumas and car accidents. These tension patterns layer on our bodies and create immobility, pain and discomfort.

Using this powerful, gentle, deeply sensuous movement technique, you will release and lengthen tight muscles back to a more natural length and feel a sense of peace, calm and freedom within your body, mind and spirit.

Gently Releasing Lower Back Tension with Hanna Somatic Movement
Private Hanna Somatic Bodywork
You will be expertly guided and assisted in addressing your specific aches, pains and challenges with gentle, loving touch.
Hanna Somatic Body work is a rapidly effective neurological-muscular re-education method that effectively reduces muscle tension, pain and disconnection.
It is generally painless and deeply relaxing and because it is your nervous system making the changes and adjustments, the effects are often deep and long-lasting.
You will learn where and how your body is holding tension and what you can do to release what binds you.
After the bodywork you may feel:
-ready for nap!
-ready to move!
-deeply calm and centered in your self-energy
-a sense of ease and flow in movement
-optimistic and joyful
-impressed your body's ability to find peace

During the first part of her movement career she taught a rather dogmatic and intense form of yoga that was her first medicine. Being a rather ambitous and passionate person, she ended up injuring herself with too much back-bending and ignoring her bodies signals. She discovered Hanna Somatics through her father and began to unwind her stress, trauma and injuries on a whole new level.
She is now certified as a Hanna Somatic Educator. She works internationally with Heart-led leaders to help them develop somatically to release tension and pain, perform at a higher level in all they do and enjoy their lives truly, madly and deeply. In addition, she is a self-taught whole food plant-based chef and a kitchen witch who loves to share nourishing and delectable food with her community.

The water has always been my place of calm, and more recently I found my truest self waiting for me there.
I found WRT Water Release Therapy® at the perfect time; I was healing from a neck injury and working through re-parenting myself in therapy. What better place to release trauma? Surrounded by healing molecules, ready to receive and transmute negative energy back into love.
My passion has always been learning about the human body and how to unravel the physical and emotional patterns that keep us from feeling free. Being in water means I can allow the warm water to do the work and I can be present for the other person’s holistic experience. Bringing joy back into bodies, floating in a pool full of safety and peace. Being supported in water is so precious. I’m so honored to serve others to release their burdens, and rediscover connection to Divine love.
WRT Water Release Therapy® is the perfect blend of nurturing and joyful exploration. Allowing for comfort, and hinting toward what’s possible. I currently teach online every Monday; Processing Emotions with Nervous System Regulation tools. Particularly for those working through addiction and co-dependency.

Just a little about how I got here, teaching and practicing Hanna Somatic Education (HSE). I was an athlete as a teenager and discovered Aikido as a college exchange student in Japan.

I studied and eventually taught it for most of the next 3 decades. During that time, I sustained injuries both on the mat and in other situations, auto accident, falling at work, etc.….
Enough so, that when I discovered Bikram Yoga in my 40s I committed myself to it and eventually taught it. But it didn’t resolve all my pain.
It was with HSE that all my pain was resolved. I say resolved and not gone, because the pain from crushing my right heel may never completely go away. I continue to this day to work with it and get more use all the time. It has been the source of great learning and continues to be.
It has been with both the individual sessions of work and the movements that I have gotten relief. The individual sessions target the specific areas of trauma and/or pain. And the movements are daily practice that keeps me moving with ease.
I began practicing HSE in 2008. I began the formal training with the Novato Institute in 2010, completing my training and certification as a Hanna Somatic Educator in 2013. Later that year I joined the teaching team and have served on that team as a Teaching Assistant and Student Teacher in an additional 16 learning modules.
I am a member in good standing in the Association for Hanna Somatic Education, http://hannasomatics.com

Hi! I’m Amanda Growing up in Southern California loving the water, swimming in pools, teaching swim lessons, many beach days in the summer, I never realized how healing water truly is. It was always just a part of me.It wasn’t until I went to massage school in 2016 that I found out the healing magic of water.
My first massage teacher was also an aquatic therapy giver. In the first week of school, she showed us videos of her water practice. I knew right then my purpose for choosing this career path. Now as a practitioner in WATSU ™, having studied in Oregon, Washington, California, and India, I open my arms and invite you to experience the healing of the warm waters.
Watsu takes you on a journey deeper inside yourself. It can be a stand-alone therapy or paired nicely with massage. And is great for all ages! Other offerings include Baby Watsu, Pregnancy Massage & Watsu, and Swim Lessons.
See you in the water!

Where to begin,
I’m a soap maker, sky lover, skin therapist, yoga teacher, Gardener, seamstress, & mother!
I’ve been practicing yoga for 13 years, focusing on Kundalini Yoga and moving meditations.
I love singing, and I started incorporating that into my yoga classes.
I connect to the Earth and sing what I hear, no words, just the song of the Earth.
My goal is to help people alleviate pain, be it emotional, physical, or spiritual.
I want to help us change our brain, to handle the stress, and move through difficult times.
As we practice doing that on the mat with breathwork and postures, we train our mind to rise to the challenge in real life.
