Chelsey just returned from the Somatic Awakening Retreat this June and has shared her beautiful insights!
She has released so much and come back to her self in such a beautiful way in short amount of time.
She is on the path to experience a pain-less life through somatics and self-compassion.
Here’s what she had to say about her time so far:
I'm a wellness enthusiast who has lived with chronic pain for over a decade.
I'm passionate about holistic means to create balance in daily life.
I'm seeking physical, spiritual and emotional healing so that I can feel more myself in my body and to release what's weighing me down.
Through adding somatics, I believe I can get back to balance.
I'm elevated to start a holistic career of my own someday.
I first met Aimee at a Somatic Awakening class at Kula Yoga months ago.
I had such a great experience; not only did I feel completely relaxed afterwards, I also had energy.
I decided to experience private sessions with her and each time I left feeling better.
I could feel the physical and mental tension melting away.
I’ve had many layers of tension throughout my body from injuries as well as traumas and daily stressors that added to the tightness and pain systemically.
When dealing with chronic pain for so long, it's easy to ignore or even adapt to the pain that you're faced with daily.
This can cause a loss of awareness of certain areas of pain in my body.
In my sessions I experienced relaxation, euphoria, and most recently I experienced the release of some trauma that I was carrying in my heart/chest.
This came out as a physical release of emotions during a private session where Aimee could detect areas in my chest that were tight that I wasn't even aware of in the moment.
Through Aimee's awareness, conversation, and guidance and with my breath; she gave me a safe space to relieve emotional trauma during this experience.
I was able to face and work through that with her love and support.
Aimee is gentle, loving, in tune, a teacher/ leader who is willing to share her wellness knowledge, even outside of somatics to elevate her community.
Other therapies I have routinely used seem to be surface level in comparison.
Once I started to incorporate somatics into my life- I not only felt physical relief, but emotional and spiritual release as well.
I now know from experience that mind, body and spirit are connected in this practice.
Since beginning this journey only a few months ago, I feel more myself and present in my day to day.
I am more aware of my pain: emotional and physical. I'm able to come back to my somatic movement any time I need relief.
It gives more awareness to the mind, body and spirit connection.
It like somatics gave me a clear awareness of the layers of tension that are holding my body. And allows me to focus on the main areas that need relief in the present.
